Upcoming 2023 Kitchen Trends

Smart Technology

Technology is evolving at a rapid pace in every industry, and our kitchens are no different. You will see a major rise in appliances that are connected to your wifi. These are controlled by your phone, voice-activated appliances, smart touchless faucets, and many more. Smart technology in kitchens isn’t just convenient. It also helps to save time and energy. Most smart appliances are more energy-efficient than their traditional counterparts.

Slab Backsplashes

Forget traditional tile backsplashes! 2023 is all about sleek, large-scale slab backsplashes. A slab backsplash is simply made out of one large piece of continuous material. Choose from granite, quartz, marble and many more! Your backsplash will be carefully chosen to match countertops. On the other hand, it is also a statement piece in the kitchen with a bold contrasting colour or design.

Organic Elements

Trends usually come and go before your eyes. One trend that is staying in the spotlight, however, is the use of organic elements in the kitchen. Organic elements will continue to make their way into kitchens. For example, in the form of natural stone countertops, organic and eco-friendly materials, wood cabinetry and storage, and metal accents.

Large Kitchen Islands

As Jona Lewie famously said, “You will always find me in the kitchens at parties”. The kitchen is the heart of the home. Designers also predict larger kitchen islands are going to pop up everywhere. These will therefore accommodate larger entertaining and gathering spaces in the kitchen.

Warm Colours

While white remains a popular choice for kitchens. Many people will opt for more colour to break up their space. In particular, homeowners are embracing warmer tones and bold pops of colour. This is opposed to monochromatic, Scandinavian-style minimalism or white and grey farmhouse-style kitchens.

Natural browns and beiges will help add that warmth. Every kitchen should have that welcoming feeling.
