Through the many kitchens we have designed over the years, my personal favourites are the kitchens that incorporate wooden countertops or wooden floors to counteract the white gloss finish of the kitchen. This addition of wood into the kitchen can bring about a special warmth that makes the area feel very homely and inviting. As seen above in the featured image, it gives your space a modern feel but with a slightly vintage, farmhouse look. A lovely nod to the agricultural history of Northern Ireland, this a popular choice among kitchen designs. 

Strong Lighting

Having strong lighting in a white gloss kitchen is key. It allows your kitchen to be the star of the show, the way you intended it to be. Luckily there are a few things you can do to guarantee the lighting is perfect in your space all year round. 

The first thing you can do is add an overhead skylight to the ceiling if it is possible to do so. There is no better light than natural light and this addition will allow your kitchen to be illuminated during the daytime no matter what time of year it is!

If the first option isn’t viable for your kitchen space, don’t worry! There are still plenty of options to choose from to make sure your kitchen gets all the light it deserves. One design that never goes out of style is adding LED lights under cupboards to illuminate the entire countertop space. Whilst there isn’t much personalisation with this choice of lighting, an addition of a centrepiece light in the centre of your kitchen can really bring it together. Whether it’s a spotlight bar or one low hanging lamp, the possibilities are endless to really make the kitchen your own.  

Add a pop of colour 

Whilst all white everything gives your kitchen a modern, sleek finish, sometimes a splash of colour can really tie the space together. Again, the possibilities are endless when it comes to adding colour to your kitchen. No matter what colour you choose, you are guaranteed to give your kitchen a timeless look that is unique to your space. 

Using colour, you can inject your personality into your interior design. One thing we always encourage our customers to do is to allow their personality to lead their kitchen design.
