energy efficient kitchen

Autumn is one of our favourite seasons here at Torbitts! With the days getting shorter and the evenings getting longer, it is time for cosying up with some hot chocolates in front of the fire. The kitchen is the heart of your home and it really comes into its own in the winter months. Socialising and cooking comforting meals are at the top of our to-do list. Our kitchens look stunning all year round, but we do believe in adding something a little extra when a new season rolls around.

Here are a few autumnal ideas for your kitchen this year:

-Autumnal Colour Scheme

Dark autumnal greens, oranges and browns bring added warmth to your kitchen. Furthermore, navy and plum tones can create a moody, intense atmosphere. If you are worried about overpowering your space, consider opting for a two-tone scheme with a lighter colour scheme on your overhead cabinetry. Dark cabinet colours are a timeless choice and are a wonderful way to add personality to a room. A warming deep green colour scheme is sure to look stunning whatever the season.

-Stylish Metal Fittings

Gold, brass and copper fittings bring real flair and attention to detail to your kitchen design. They can give a gorgeous vintage look to a traditional kitchen or add a sense of luxury to a modern interior. Gold undertones are perfect for autumn and can be incorporated into handles, pendant lights, sinks and taps and even splashbacks for an exquisite finishing touch to your home. Brushed Nickel, Matte Black, Copper and Brass, have become hugely popular in recent times for kitchen taps. The chrome finish provides a slick and modern vibe to kitchens.

-Warm Wood Finishing

Falling leaves and forest walks are some of our first thoughts when it comes to Autumn. Why not introduce this nature into your own kitchen? There are many ways you can introduce a warm, autumnal feel to your kitchen. Wood is the perfect way to add an autumn vibe to your kitchen. Opting for a timber worktop, paired with a classic shaker or in-frame design provides a rustic and welcoming country kitchen feel. Wooden flooring also brings warmth and looks remarkably elegant. The natural texture and warming tones of a wood finish are a stunning way to bring a calming and homely atmosphere to your space.

As kitchen designers, we love it when clients come up with added extras for their kitchen! We live by the saying “the difference between something good and something great is attention to detail.”
