If you are like me, you can be a bit of a hoarder when it comes to ingredients. I have a dedicated hot sauce shelf in my kitchen and at least 75% of them have been used just once. It’s very easy to buy something to use in one recipe and let it sit in the back of your cupboard for years. The first thing you should do when trying to maximise your storage space is getting rid of anything that is out of date or hasn’t been used in over 2 months. It might not be the answer to all of your storage problems but it is a great start!

Hanging Pots and Pans

Pots and Pans can take up a lot of room in your kitchen drawers or cupboards. One way to free up this space whilst making use of vertical space is installing a pot rack on your wall. Not only does this free up some much needed space, it also gives your kitchen a sleek, modern feel.

Magnetic Knife Holders

This is another way to make use of the vertical space in your kitchen and freeing up your kitchen worktop. Rather than having a bulky knife block taking up room on the worktop, a simple magnetic knife rack will do the same job with less space.

Spice Storage

Whilst individual spice containers are quite small, many together take up a lot of room. There are many smart solutions on how to maximise your storage space by organising your spices:

• If you have any free wall space, add a few rows of extra shelf space to fit your spices (you can even add some extra shelf space to the side of your fridge!) 
• Add a rack to the back of a cupboard door for your spices
• Everyone has a junk drawer, by clearing that out you can create a spice drawer, giving that drawer a new purpose
