a Torbitts BBQ grilling chicken and vegetables

We know it’s maybe a bit early to be talking about BBQ’s…but it’s better to be prepared, especially with the Northern Ireland weather. Are you from Belfast, Carrickfergus, Larne or further afield in Northern Ireland and dreaming of those sunny BBQ evenings? Here at Torbitts Ltd we have you covered! We are now stocking a wide range of BBQ’s perfect for your home. There is nothing we love more than seeing our clients enjoy themselves with our products!

The state and condition of your barbecue will always impact the end result, so you need to maintain and look after your barbecue. We know everything there is to know about BBQ and how to maintain it for the best possible experience:

Read the Instruction Manual

This may seem like an obvious thing to do but you would be surprised at how many people forget to clean their BBQ before they begin using it. Whether you have just purchased your BBQ from us for the first time or have retrieved it from its winter home, it’s important to give it a thorough clean before its first use. If you’ve just bought a BBQ from us at Torbitts Ltd, it can be tempting to just fire it up straight away, especially if the sun is shining. However, it is important to read the instruction manual before immediate use as it will include hot to safely prepare your BBQ for its first outing. We all know the good weather in Larne and Carrickfergus is few and far between so we always have the tendency to light up the BBQ straight away but it’s better to be safe than sorry!

Maintain your BBQ before and after

After a delicious grilled meal at a family BBQ, barbecue maintenance is probably the last thing on your mind. It’s easy to walk away from the barbecue thinking that your work is done, or to promise yourself that you’ll return to clean it… However, this means that you’ll end up spending twice as long cleaning your BBQ than if you just deal with it soon after you’ve eaten. In terms of looking after your BBQ it’s all about thinking smart.

Minimise mess with less oil and foil

Tin foil can be used to line any ash pan; this makes it easier to clean out and helps make the BBQ more efficient by reflecting the heat back onto the food. Prevention is better than cure – if you use the oil to coat the food rather than the grill, this will help cut down the amount of deposits and reduce the amount of cleaning.

Keep your BBQ covered in this Northern Ireland weather

With many BBQs, it may be a time-consuming process to move them into the garage or shed all the time when they are not in use. Cover them up to avoid the long term damage caused by the unpredictable Northern Irish weather.
