kitchen trends 2022

We can’t believe it’s the end of 2021. Here at Torbitts Ltd, we have been lucky to design kitchens for clients across Northern Ireland. From Larne and Greenisland to Ballymena and Belfast, no job is too big or too small! Our design team has seen many different trends come and go throughout the year and we can’t wait to see what 2022 has to offer. With our years of experience, we always keep a close eye on what new trends are around the corner.

Here are some of kitchen trends coming up in 2022:

Bold Kitchen Unit Colours

The trend for using bold, dark colours in the kitchen has been rumbling around for some time now but there has definitely been an expansion in the shades being used. Matte Black cupboard units are expected to be extremely popular in 2022. Not for the faint hearted, matte black units will provide a real show-stopping kitchen. Clients have become more experimental with colour and their use of raw materials within their kitchen design. Green has continued to increase in popularity — whether used as an accent or across the cabinetry, this bold colourway is becoming a key element in many industrial-inspired spaces.

Vertical Tiling

Vertical Tiling has really taken off recently, with a surge in demand near the end of 2021. Tumbled edges, imperfect colorful and crackled glazes give this ordered, upright design a more relaxed, artisan feel too. Mosaic tiles and longer tiles are becoming even more popular as they bring character and texture to your kitchen.

Feature Islands

The kitchen island is truly the centerpiece of the kitchen. Not just a natural dividing unit or a practical part of the design, with some clever kitchen island ideas, it’s also an opportunity to really show off and make a statement. By contrasting colours and using a striking piece of marble or a brushed brass panel, your kitchen island will be the hub of your kitchen space.

Broken Kitchen Layout

For decades, knocking down walls and opening up living spaces has been the ‘go to’ in terms of kitchen renovations. Instead of knocking down walls, there is a new way of creating that open space layout in your kitchen. This is achieved by maintaining an open feel whilst zoning areas by using half partitions, glass panels or disappearing pocket doors that offer the flexibility of closing up spaces when needed.

Here at Torbitts Ltd, kitchens are available in our showroom & we offer from the simple to the simply fantastic. We design your dream kitchen to your needs for more and offer evening and weekend appointments to accommodate for work schedules. Walk-in customers are also welcome.
